Dear General Vance,

I thank you for your letter dated 22 November 2018, and for providing further information on the initiatives being undertaken by the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces with respect to the execution and management of the Occupational Health Program.

I am encouraged by your response, and in particular the commitments to staffing and meeting the 100 per cent inspection standard.

For your situational awareness, this Office will continue to monitor the progress of these initiatives, and I will publish information on the initiatives and our intent to monitor.

I have copied the Deputy Minister in regard to her responsibilities for civilian employees, and will follow-up with the authority responsible for occupational health and safety inspections on the civilian side.

Sincerely,

Gregory A. Lick
