Dear Minister Sajjan:

As you are aware, this Office’s report entitled A Systemic Investigation of the Factors that Impact Health care Entitlements and Related Benefits of the Rangers was released on December 5, 2017. The report contained four recommendations that were all accepted.

I am writing to inform you that this Office has begun formal follow-up activities to determine the status of implementation of the report’s recommendations.

In this regard, this Office has reached out to the Commander of the Canadian Army Lieutenant-General Lanthier, with a courtesy copy to the Chief of Military Personnel Lieutenant-General Lamarre.

I look forward to future collaboration with the Canadian Army, the Chief of Military Personnel, and all other stakeholders who share a role in the health care of the Canadian Rangers.

I remain available should you require further information or wish to discuss.

Sincerely,

Gregory Lick
Ombudsman
