Award Recipients
The Ombudsman's Special Recognition Award was created in the fall of 2006 and replaced the Ombudsman's Commendation for Ethics.
The Commendation for Complaint Resolution was renamed in 2006 in honour of the late Liz Hoffman, who was an investigator with the Office of the Ombudsman.
Beginning in 2011, the Ombudsman will present one award to recognize Canadian Forces members, civilian employees and family members who go the extra mile and exceed expectations in helping their colleagues resolve a difficult problem or in bringing about positive and lasting change to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces. Going forward, this award will be called the Liz Hoffman Memorial Commendation for Complaint Resolution.
